Unsolicited commentary and thoughts

I finally saw Rain Man. I realized I had seen most of it before on cable, but never all the way through. I don’t know how anyone can watch that movie and not say “definitely” at the beginning of each sentence for the next few days. Definitely, definitely hard.

I also recently completed my anime festival on Netflix. After being turned off by seeing the extremely confusing Ghost in the Shell at a young age, and then seeing the highly-praised Spirited Away and thinking it didn’t deserve all the praise it received, I was highly skeptical and just assumed I wasn’t an anime type of guy. However, all of the films I saw were pretty good, especially Akira and Paprika. Hooray for giving things a second chance.

I like learning about all these wonderful tools and methods I can use to better organize my life, like ways to keep my e-mail inbox empty, and scheduling notifications with Google Calendar. Then I realize my life isn’t busy enough to warrant the use of any such methods, and that if I did get to the point of being that busy it probably wouldn’t be a good thing.

I have managed to find a way to use Backpack to my advantage though — I am now compiling lists of things I don’t need (but want), so whenever I feel like wasting my hard earned money I can go through the page and lustfully stare at consumer objects meant for instant satisfaction.

Instapaper is also incredibly useful for bookmarking stuff I find online to read later. Cause you know, I’m such a busy guy.
